The MPEG family of Audio Coding products is part of the solutions provided by Prodys in the fields of Audio compression, Audio compression and Communication technology.
Prodys’ MPEG-1/2 Layer III Audio Encoders and Decoders are based on the ISO/IEC MPEG Audio Coding Standard and are compliant with the MPEG-1 and MPEG-2. They are available for the DSP56300™ family of DSPs from Motorola and TMS320C6000™ from Texas Instruments .
MPEG-1/2 Layer III audio compression technology provides better compression efficiency than Layer II and in addition offers compatibility with other products like mp3 player and audio steaming.

The Codec software allows the following encoding formats:
·MPEG-1 (ISO/IEC 11172-3) and MPEG-2 (ISO/IEC 13818-3).
·FREQUENCY: 48,44.1,32,24,22.05,16 KHz.
·BITRATE: 8-320 Kbps.
·MODE: Stereo, Joint Stereo, Dual or Mono.
The allowed sampling frequency and bit rate combinations will depend on the imposed restrictions by the MPEG standard. |
