The MPEG family of Audio Coding products is part of the solutions provided by Prodys in the fields of Audio compression and Communication technology.
Prodys’ MPEG-1/2 Layer II Audio Encoders and Decoders are based on the ISO/IEC MPEG Audio Coding Standard and are compliant with the MPEG-1 and MPEG-2. They are available for the DSP56300™ family of DSPs from Motorola and the TMS320C6000™ family from Texas Instruments.
MPEG-1/2 Layer II audio compression technology provides good compression efficiency and in addition offers compatibility with other standards like the DVB and DAB. |

The Codec software allows the following encoding formats:
·MPEG-1 (ISO/IEC 11172-3) and MPEG-2 (ISO/IEC 13818-3).
·FREQUENCY: 48,44.1,32,24,22.05,16 KHz.
·BITRATE: 8-384 Kbps.
·MODE: Stereo, Joint Stereo, Dual or Mono.The allowed sampling frequency, bit rate and mode combinations will depend on the imposed restrictions by the MPEG standard. |
